Which project was your most successful? Describe the theme and or topic and the process you went through to complete the project. Were the choices you made regarding subject, design and technique beneficial to enhancing this project. Do you feel you needed more instruction for success? Explain or did you feel that the instruction given was enough to ensure success? Explain.
My most successful art project was the last one we did, the landscape painting. We had to have our own photos of the scenery that we wanted to paint so my topic was going with a mountain and a river with grass. The process i went through making the painting that was the most challenging would have to be mixing all the paints to make the purple in the mountains and the green in the grass. I feel i could of made better artistic choices with my use of shading and contrast, the sky and the mountains do have a good design that enlightens the painting. The only thing that would have made this project easier would have been a little better teaching on how to mix paints. Another small thing would showing us how to add good shading and depth to our paintings. Even though that was the only thing that could of been better. The instructions given gave us enough info to complete our task at hand.

Discuss one project where you felt you were the least successful. Explain why you felt this way. What would you do differently to change this piece? Explain.
The project that i felt i had the most difficulty completing would have to be the clay tile. First of all it felt like a rushed project that if we maybe could of had another week mine would have been alot better. This is not Ms. Rossi's fault but we did have to do a landscape sorta tile and we already had done like 20 other landscape things and in my opinion was pointless. We rushed the painting process at the end also because there was not enough time before school ended. This entailed that i had to rush on the paint job so i could not get a bad grade on it. There would have been multiple ways in which i could improve on the whole project. First thing i would do differently was not do another landscape, i would of choose to do something that i enjoy and that i would have not rushed to complete. I could of also done some better painting to the tile that i had completed and made it look more like some icebergs and oceans.

Look at your body of work over the semester and choose 2 pieces that show your growth as an artist. Discuss each piece and how you grew in the following areas: application of materials, techniques and skills, artistic vision, use of the principles and elements, creativity, intuition and subject matter.
On my first of art work it was a landscape drawing of skyscrapers and building. The piece was a black and white contrast photo, the materials we used with the first project where just paper. the whole project requires little to no skill to complete since it was one of the first projects. You also dont need have and artistic value to see what the artwork vision. The second project i choose to do was the Skeleton outline of a cartoon character. This showed me how to free draw a little better and how to use tracing paper to trace over my work and transfer it. I also had to become very creative in what cartoon character to use that would have a cool bone structure. We also used more principles of art with all the steps used to come to the final product, from making the skeleton to transferring it.

Choose a piece or artwork where the subject matter reflects you as an artist. One that you have a personal connection to. Please explain your choice. Include photos and explain thoroughly.
The picture of the shoe represents me as a artist in many different ways. The pair of shoes means nothing it is about how we use shoes and what they mean for us in everyday life. Having different pairs of shoes shows different personality and how you care. This relates back to my art because there are some art pieces i hate to create and then there are some pieces of art i enjoy to make or reproduce. The shoes also have a personal connection to me and my family because they bought me the shoes for work and since working i have moved up positions in work and have been called one of the best workers in the store and having the shoes remind me on how lucky i am and how supportive my family is. it also reflects on how bad i am at art in general, i have no artistic and really just took art one so i could go into computer animation and designs because that is was i enjoy. With that said having art one has showed me that just because i don't like something doesn't mean i shouldn't try my hardest

What medium was your favorite to work with? Explain.
My favorite medium to use in art would have been the print making project. First we had to draw out the project which was kinda interesting. The best part had to be carving out the little flexy material that the ink would be put onto. it was really tough at first but after that i got the hang of it and it turned out a little better than i thought. Using the ink rollers was a fun experience because it taught me how to be a mini painter for a little. After you put the in on the flimsy thing i carved you then had to plop it down on the paper and that also ended up being really fun and a good medium to work with. The last fun medium i used in the project was making the little cactus prickles in my artwork. We had to use a special knife and that was challenging but showed me a few techniques i didn't know.
